Helping 1000 people find remote jobs

Hey,

I'm Sergio Pereira, and this is the Remote Work newsletter 👋

Last week, I wrote about how side projects can accelerate your remote career, and why you should start one.

In fact, for a few weeks now I've been hands down building my own side project: JobsCopilot.ai. The bot is now tracking ~400k companies, and over 1 million jobs.

Next week I start the beta testing inside my Slack community. Aiming for a public launch in early April, first for the 1000+ people on the Jobs Copilot waitlist.

This is very exciting times, and I'm very thankful for the community members who've been pinging me to try Jobs Copilot and provide feedback. Those nuggets of wisdom from each of them will make it a better product for thousands of job seekers who'll onboard over the coming months.

As the heavy duty work on Jobs Copilot gets through, I'll start having more bandwidth for the Remote Jobs Braintrust again. I'm very excited to announce 3 more sessions for April and May:

These topics have been discussed again and again in the #get-feedback channel.

On one hand people want to cover non-full-time career options, such as Fractional CTO or launching a SaaS product on the side.

On the other hand, many people ask me about my journey on Twitter and how they can grow an audience by writing online themselves.

These sessions will be quite personal, since I'll pretty much tell my own story, my learnings and how other people can apply them to their own situation and context. As always, each of these sessions will have live Q&A.

The session on the 9th of April is about my own story to become a Fractional CTO. I'll cover common questions I get on Slack and DMs, such as:

• What are the mandatory skills to become a Fractional CTO?

• When does it make sense to transition from full time to Fractional/Freelancer?

• How to find the first client?

• How to find consistent clients?

• How to raise prices/rates?

• What are the most frequent causes of failure in a Fractional/Freelance career?

I look forward to it, and I'll start working on organising these contents for the session. To attend this session, and all others please join us here.

One of my new year resolutions for 2024 is to help 1000+ people find remote jobs. This is the common goal guiding these initiatives across the Remote Jobs Braintrust and the JobsCopilot.ai.

I'm committed to continue building up the momentum and help people find jobs that fulfil them.

Thanks for reading this newsletter until the end. You can read all past editions here. Make sure to share it with your friends and colleagues so they can read it too.

If you're interested in sponsoring this newsletter, send me an email or DM.

See you next Friday,
